| North Beach Recreation & Bowling Club is a friendly and relaxed Club which currently employs 18 full and part time staff. All of the staff are local people and are well known and well liked by the members. The Club is run by a Secretary/Manager and a Board of Directors comprising of 10 members. North Beach Recreation & Bowling Club has approximately 1500 members with the membership base comprising of local members, members from Coffs Harbour & Bellingen Shires as well as visiting members from all over Australia. North Beach Recreation & Bowling Club began as an idea from a few locals who wanted somewhere they could go for a fun game of bowls and of course a cold beer afterwards.Work began on a spare patch of ground in May 1967 with all the labour for the project being voluntary by a handful of local men and women. The liquor licence for the premises was granted in November 1969 and in the first seven months of trading a profit of $6427.24 was returned. Approximately 40 years later the Club is still going strong. | ||
